This race serves as the championship race for the FIT Family Series. The triathlon starts off with a beautiful swim course in Turkeyfoot Lake along the beach. Duathletes start off with a 5k out and back run within the park. The bike course loop through the country roads surrounding the park. Both events finish with a run through the park with the finish line overlooking Portage Lakes.

All finishers will receive a handsome finisher medal and the top three in each division will receive custom awards (including relay teams).
For those who prefer to race one element of the triathlon or duathlon we offer a relay division for our sprint and Olympic distance triathlons and duathlons. Relay teams consist of three (3) members (1 swimmer, 1 biker, 1 runner), each member will complete one segment of the race (2 members for duathlon teams). Each team member will exchange their timing chip bracelet at their assigned bike rack. There are NO age groups in this division.

Race weekend kicks off with this super fun event that offers kids up to 15 years old a fun swimming, biking and running event. What kid does not like to swim, bike and run? The Kidz Triathlon & Duathlon features kid friendly point-to-point swim courses (or opening runs for duathletes) in waist deep water along the beach, followed by either a 5k or 10k bike course and finishing with a cross country run within the park. Children racing must be able to swim the course without a life jacket and ride the bike course on a bike without training wheels. Parents/siblings/friends are not allowed to swim/ride/run alongside the kids during the race at any time.

The mini distance triathlon will start off with a 250 yard point-to-point swim (in waist deep water along the beach), followed by a 7 mile single loop bike course through the countryside and finishing with 2 mile out and back run within the park. Duathletes will start off with a 2 mile run.

The sprint distance triathlon features a 750 meter counter clockwise rectangle swim along the beach, while the duathletes are running an out & back 5k run within the park, followed by a single loop 22k bike course through the countryside surrounding the park and finishing with an out & back 5k run within the park before returning for a grand finish overlooking Turkeyfoot Lake.

The Olympic distance triathlon features a 1500 meter 2-lap counter clockwise rectangle swim along the beach, while the duathletes are running an out & back 5k within the park, followed by a double loop 37k bike course through the countryside surrounding the park and finishing with a two lap out & back 10k run within the park before returning for a grand finish overlooking Turkeyfoot Lake.

411-acre Portage Lakes State Park offer visitors a variety of outdoor recreational experiences. Boating, swimming and fishing are popular on the several surrounding lakes. The wetlands of the park attract waterfowl and shorebirds, providing visitors enjoyment whether hunting or observing wildlife, along with an 18-hole disk golf course.
