
Big Darby Creek Trail Scramble is a 12-hour, 8-hour, and 4-hour team relay and solo ultra, run along the Battelle Darby Creek trail system (we promise some of the best views of the metro park and the Big Darby Creek). Run as a solo ultrarunner, or get your fellow trail-running friends for a 3-person or 5-person relay team. (There is no 5-person relay division for the 4 hour duration)
Big Darby begins at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 8 during a beautiful Ohio June sunrise, continues through out the day, and finishes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening as the sun begins it descent to the west along the Big Darby Creek. Don’t miss this unique and incredible running experience.
Event Description
The course is a 4.1 mile trail loop that starts and finishes at the Indian Ridge grounds. Runners, Hikers, and Ruckers may opt to run, hike or ruck continuously throughout the duration, or take an extended break in between laps.
The loop will consist of the exterior track, gravel, and grass and includes the Ancient Trail and forested Terrace Trail. The course is runnable, non-technical and is flat except for a .20 mile climb that elevation changes by 700 feet. Max elevation is 927 feet and total elevation gain for the course is 165 feet.
Finishing results are determined by finishing your prescribed (4-hour, 8-hour, 12-hour) race. Finishers amenity will be awarded to all who complete their chosen duration race. The Top finishers will be based on number of laps completed and overall time to complete the accumulated laps. Participants that do not complete the entire race would be considered DNF and not award eligible.
